Every publication gets a scoring policy that drives how their coverage contributes to importance. Articles are also classified into tiers based on what kind of coverage they represent:

A — Native review score (Pitchfork 8.1, Stereogum 4/5)
B — Derived from a formal review at a non-scoring pub
C — Derived from a roundup/listicle blurb
D — Spotlight only (playlist pick, no critical prose)
E — Too neutral to score (tour news, interview, etc.)
